Who we’re looking for

As our Central IT Support Technician, you’ll be based in the Blackburn offices as part of the Star Academies IT Team, providing support to Central Office staff ensuring they have the IT tools to carry out their leadership and support roles for the Trust. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Working onsite Monday to Friday, 37hr week
  • 1st Line Support: Installation and management of both educational and office software / hardware
  • Service Delivery: Support small ICT related projects, to help modernise IT services in Star Academies, keeping up to date with current developments in technology
  • Managing helpdesk incidents, responding and resolving within set SLAs, working alongside Central’s Technical Leads to deliver the best solutions for our staff.


You will work as part of an expanding and professional team who will enable you to develop and demonstrate your skills in a supportive environment. This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for or someone who wishes to start or progress their career in education and IT. 


You will have:

  • Qualification or training relating to an IT Support role.
  • Experience of working in an ICT setting.
  • Experience of trouble-shooting software and hardware issues in a timely manner.
  • The ability to procure, install and manage educational and office software.
  • The ability to manage the school’s ICT network – including back-up and recovery of data.
