Job overview

The Governors of this highly successful and over-subscribed mixed 11-18 Specialist Science College are seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking technician to join our IT support team in providing day to day maintenance of various hardware / software applications within the school.

We have recently implemented a number of major infrastructure changes and are looking forward to further improving the Multi-Academy Trust’s IT provision, of which St Gregory’s is the lead school.

We require a dedicated and hard-working technician to join our IT support team in providing day to day maintenance of various hardware/software applications within the school.

As a specialist in your field, you will routinely carry out hardware and software installations and repairs, maintain inventory, order equipment and maintain/troubleshoot our IT hardware.

You will also assist in the support of our SIMS information system and with the maintenance and running of our servers and our website. We will listen to your proposals to further develop and improve our IT processes.

Ideally, you should have previous experience, preferably in a school and have a qualification in an IT related area.

There is significant opportunity to progress within the Trust. We believe in flexible working.

This role is ideal for someone who has the ambition and drive to assist the school in the fast moving world of education; it would also suit someone who wishes to work part time only.

Hours – Negotiable. Full time, part time or term time post available. Salary – according to experience, FTE £30-35k, negotiable.

Effective safeguarding, data protection and promoting the welfare of pupils is our upmost priority. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches in line with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. References will be sought and the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. A respect for the Catholic ethos of the school is essential.

For an application pack and an initial chat, please contact Ms A Briffa, E: bursar@stgregorys.harrow.sch.uk or telephone 0208 927 0918.

Closing date for applications is midday on Tuesday 21st May 2024.
