We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable classroom teacher to introduce the Japanese language and associated culture to students in 11 classes from Year 3 to Year 6. Lessons are 45 minutes, with the preference being 4 hours on a Wednesday, with a full day on Friday. Days could be negotiated. The successful applicant should be able to address the following criteria in their application: * knowledge and understanding of the Languages Curriculum; * experience in planning, assessing and reporting in the Languages curriculum; *an openness to work collaboratively with others to build a positive environment where learning a language is valued and relevant; *an ability to strategically plan for and implement immersion in the Japanese language and associated culture; *an ability to actively engage students in the learning process (for example behaviour management; feedback, digital technology and innovative practices).
St Oliver Plunkett Primary School is situated on Brisbane's southside with an approximate enrolment of 530. As part of the Cannon Hill parish the school provides a contemporary, faith-based education for all students, where in partnership with all families we learn about our world, ourselves and our Creator God. Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
