Hours: Full time, term time only plus one week
Pay Scale: Band 5 £24,799 - £27,905 pro rata (actual salary £21,498 pa)

The John Paul Centre is an inclusion centre in Mansfield for students; providing a 'safe-haven' support unit, giving vulnerable students the chance to achieve their full potential and progress. We are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated individual to lead and manage the day to day running of the Centre.
The appointed person will be a designated safeguarding officer which includes working with staff, young people, the health family team, family services, CAMHS and early help team.
Key duties will include:
• Supervise the activities of individuals/groups of students to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development
• Monitor the needs of individual students, and in conjunction with teaching staff, develop appropriate strategies and measures to overcome any barriers to learning
• Develop appropriate programmes of study e.g. anger management, improve self esteem
• Work with the Assistant Head teacher (Behaviour and Attitudes) and Year Progress Leaders regarding programmes of study; mentoring activities; and other support as required.
Previous experience of working with young people aged 11-18 in either a paid or voluntary capacity is beneficial and a good understanding of English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or above) is important.
