Job overview

We require a talented and well-qualified primary trained teacher to teach English, maths and the humanities to juniors (initially a Year 6 Class) at this highly successful and innovative independent junior school.

Successful candidates will teach a class of 20 Year 6 pupils and form part of a team of three Year 6 teachers, who plan and work as a highly successful team, supported by specialist teachers teaching the broader curriculum, in this well-resourced school.

The Elms Nursery and Junior School to Trent College is a thriving independent school on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border and caters for children from birth to 11 years.

The successful applicant will be committed to leading by example, developing excellent relationships with children, parents and colleagues and to continuous improvement. Applicants are invited to state their curriculum strengths and indicate where they can contribute to the full life of the school, including the running of extra-curricular clubs.

Salary is commensurate with experience and is above the Main Scale in the maintained sector. In addition to professional development opportunities, staff may enjoy a generous fee discount for children attending the school (both at The Elms and Trent College), private medical insurance and use of the school’s dining and excellent sports facilities.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged.
