 Based at De Lacy Primary School you will be joining a friendly, hardworking, committed team of Teachers and support staff, in an attractive working environment.

The successful candidate will be a committed practitioner, who is ambitious and aspirational and focussed on raising the outcomes for Key Stage 1 pupils. You will deliver exciting and progress-focussed learning opportunities to pupils, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the Head of School. 

De Lacy provides a happy, stimulating learning environment catering for the needs of all children whilst providing a broad and balanced curriculum in which every child can develop. Resulting gains in learning outcomes will be expected.

Key skills and relevant experience required:

• Success as a classroom teacher;

• Strong behaviour management;

• Experience of analysing progress information to accurately provide interventions for individuals or groups;

• Effective communication skills and the ability to provide succinct feedback to colleagues, parents or other stakeholders;

• Demonstrate complete professionalism.

The successful candidate will also have highly effective numeracy & literacy skills. At all times, they will maintain the welfare & safety of the children as their priority.

De Lacy opened in the summer of 2010. The School replaced Pontefract Willow Park Junior School and Pontefract Chequerfield Infant School and joined Pontefract Academies Trust in 2013. The School is a one and half form entry primary and aims to:

  • To provide a happy, stimulating learning environment that caters for the needs of all children.

  • To develop attitudes of flexibility and adaptability in children and to help pupils use their skills of learning effectively and efficiently.
