Job overview

For September 2021, we are looking for an experienced and aspiring leader and class teacher to join our growing team at Avanti Hall School.  Avanti Schools Trust is a family of schools that share the ideals of educational excellence, character formation and spiritual insight.

Avanti Hall is a school that is committed to giving all children an engaging and enriching educational experience. We provide a richly diverse and connected school environment, representative of the world that our pupils will enter. Our pupils mature into individuals who are ambitious, open-minded and confident. Along with our academic pathway, we also take care to support individual character formation and spiritual insight through the Avanti Way.

The Avanti Hall grounds on the outskirts of Exeter, offer a site of inspiring natural beauty.  Our main building, Thomas Hall, was built in the 1600s, with established woodland surrounding the main campus area. The building was part of Exeter University’s Duryard Halls of Residence for nearly 100 years before becoming a school.

We place excellent teaching and learning at the heart of all we do.  We have high expectations of our learners who respond extremely well to challenges within our broad curriculum.

The appointed candidate will be someone who, through their passion, commitment and understanding, provides the best learning experiences for their class, to build on the school’s successes and contribute to our continuing development. They will be an enthusiastic teacher with the drive, vision and commitment to educational excellence. With a clear focus on delivering excellence, you will ensure effective leadership is in place throughout the school and rapidly raise standards working closely with the Principal and Assistant Principal in creating a broad, inclusive and challenging curriculum so enabling every child at Avanti Hall School to achieve and exceed their potential.

We can offer:

• Children who are proud of their school and support each other with their learning through excellent behaviour.

• A dedicated and friendly team of colleagues, who are collaborative, enthusiastic and motivated to provide the most memorable learning experiences.

• A curriculum that focuses upon the whole child through exciting learning opportunities in yoga, mindfulness, sport and performing arts to ensure every child has the potential to succeed.

• An excellent learning environment and great support from our stakeholders, which includes parents and the wider community.
