Key Stage 3 Senior Teaching Assistant (Satellite Provision in RG2 Reading)

We have a fantastic career opportunity to be part of an important new provision at our autism specific specialist free school. We will be extending pupil numbers by accepting new early years foundation stage and key stage 3 pupils at a nearby satellite site RG2 reading.

As a Key Stage 3 Senior Teaching Assistant this role will enable you to increase the reach of this specialist Trust and provide much needed places for autistic pupils. 

•Providing the highest standard of support to children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, as well as other complex needs (where appropriate) such as PDA, OCD and ADHD

•Be self-led in ensuring your knowledge and understanding is up to date

• Working in a non-confrontational and non-directive way to ensure individual needs are met

•Working as a member of the team to provide high quality care and education and ensure that each child’s cognitive, social and emotional needs are met

•To promote positive behaviour and support children’s personal, social and emotional development

•Use autism specific strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals. Targets / appropriate to KS3.

•To support teachers in assessing the needs of the individual pupils

•Understand the guidance of teaching/senior support staff, provide support for pupils who require help to enable to access learning and to assist the management of pupils 

•Be naturally resilient and a team player who can work collaboratively in a multi-professional team.
