A popular and successful school

St. Crispin’s is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive. We offer students of all abilities and interests the opportunity to fulfil their potential. It is the founding school of The Circle Trust; a community of 10 schools with the possibility of another joining shortly.

We believe in promoting excellence in an atmosphere where students can learn, enjoy, grow and support each other.

We have a strong focus on the basics: excellent learning and teaching, a safe disciplined environment and an ethos that promotes the highest aspirations. St. Crispin’s is a high-achieving school and our staff work exceptionally hard to get the best possible results for every student.

We have an outstanding pastoral care system in place and are immensely proud of our record of being an inclusive school.

We are utterly committed to building and sustaining positive relationships between staff, students and parents.

Strong, supportive, inclusive leadership

The school has a well-established senior leadership team and committed staff that provide support and challenge. Their expertise enables every student to achieve. Turnover of staff is very low but as the school continues to grow, new appointments have been made. We have a good balance between those new to teaching and those with more experience.

We understand how hard our staff work and fiercely protect their work-life balance.

Recognition and development

We care about your career as much as you do. You will benefit from our well-developed Performance Management system and CPD programme, ‘The Virtuous Circle’, designed to reflect your ambitions. This could provide opportunities either within your current school or across the Trust.

New colleagues enjoy a comprehensive induction process. We will make sure you feel well prepared for your new role through a well-structured induction programme.

Vibrant learning community

We never want to rest on our laurels and always know we can do better. Academic performance is strong but there is always work to do to ensure good progress for all students. Being part of PiXL (Partners in Excellence) supports leaders at all levels to identify new ways to help every student to achieve their full potential.

We collaborate closely with other local secondary schools and we have a unique strategic partnership with the world-renowned independent school, Wellington College. This provides our staff with the opportunity to share best practice and resources.

The schools in the Trust actively collaborate to create an innovative network of cross-phase learning and support. We share talent, resources, educational research, training and practice.

Facilities to support our culture

St. Crispin’s is currently enjoying significant growth. This has brought about major investment in a new dining hub as well as the transfer of St Crispin’s Sports Centre. We benefit from a state-of-the-art science block, a multi-use games area (MUGA), and a £3m facility for the sixth form that has been designed with great care to meet the needs of the 21st century teacher and student.

St Crispin’s staff enjoy free on-site parking and delicious food in our restaurant.

We have a great team of people who work for us and find time to socialise together. There are regular events organised by our staff social committee – be it after-work drinks in the local pub just across the road, Friday football or curry nights.

Wokingham – a great place to live AND WORK!

Wokingham is a lovely market town that is renowned for its great schools and quality of life. Closely connected to both the M3 and M4, we are also within easy reach of central London with a direct train link to London Waterloo and you can be in Paddington within 40 minutes. We are also just a 30-minute drive from Heathrow Airport.

There is a great deal of investment in the area with many new housing developments offering key worker housing. It has a wide range of leisure facilities including tennis club, swimming pool, bowling, golf courses and beautiful countryside.
