Job overview
Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES and leading education recruitment specialist, are looking to recruit a 1:1 KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a child in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health School (SEMH) in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
The school is committed to educating students with SEMH through flexible learning programmes, providing exceptional pastoral care and building strong relationships with their students. They are committed to applying consistent and sensitive behaviour management techniques and their motto in every classroom for students is to ‘give respect and get respect’.
You will need to be an imaginative and creative character with the ability to keep children engaged with the relevant subject matter. It is paramount that you have a genuine passion for working with children and be able to withstand challenging forms of behaviour. You will need to be patient, considerate and be able to demonstrate that you are adaptable to suit changing situations.
Whilst qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching and Learning in Schools Award) and experience in supporting children with SEMH is preferred, this is not always essential. This is because we are looking for an individual with a positive and calming influence in what can sometimes be a challenging environment. We will also consider individuals who have worked with young people as a Carer and/or Support Worker.
This position is a full-time position (five days a week) and is expected to continue into the foreseeable future if you are the right person for the pupil and their needs. The position has an immediate start date and you would be expected to work 8am-4pm every day.
You will also need to meet out Safeguarding checks to be deemed suitable for this role too. In return for your hard work and expertise, you will be rewarded with:
•Excellent and transparent rates of pay.
•Consistent seminars and training courses such as Team Teach, Moving & Handling Autism Awareness (paid for by Vision) to continue your individual professional development.
•Generous Recommend a Friend Scheme.
•Dedicated team that work with our supply staff to place them in schools and locations that suit them.
•Wages paid directly into bank account every week via PAYE (not through an umbrella company)
•We are an agency that won't charge your school a fee should they wish to offer you a permanent contract; we won't stand in the way of your career.
If you feel you have the qualities we are looking for and would like to know more, please call Lauren at the Peterborough office on 01733 371371. Alternatively, please send us your current CV.
