Job overview

The Role
As a primary school trust, we are very committed to making sure that all our students are in the best possible position when they eventually leave our schools to move on to secondary education. To form part of our vision, we are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who will work with upper KS2 students of all abilities both one-on-one and in small groups. The role will involve planning and delivering lessons on all areas of the KS2 maths curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and the class teachers in order to efficiently supplement the maths provision in upper KS2 to ensure all students fulfil their potential in maths. One main element of this will be preparing students for entrance/scholarship examinations and SATs so that their chances of succeeding after year 6 are maximised.

Qualifications/Experience
The role will naturally suit someone who has a passion for maths and who wants to instil that love of maths in young people. We strongly encourage applications from anyone who feels they fit that description. The following are also desirable but not essential.

  • Maths QTS
  • Primary QTS
  • A maths degree
  • A good maths GCSE/A Level
  • Experience of teaching maths in a school setting
  • Experience of maths tutoring at any level
  • Experience of working in a maths-related role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full KS2 maths curriculum

What We Can Offer You
We can offer a positive and cooperative working environment with a strong caring ethos. Our students enjoy learning and are keen to succeed. The successful candidate will also be heavily supported during the initial induction phase and will be provided with everything they need in order to carry out the role fully and effectively from the start. This will include one-on-one training from the trust maths consultant.

If you have the skills, experience and drive to be successful in this role, please send you CV to Clair Inouye on clair.inouye@whitehallparkschool.org.uk

Telephone calls, questions and emails are encouraged. We would love to discuss the role with you in more detail.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, pre-employment and DBS checks. Whitehall Park School will welcome a diverse population of both children and staff and is committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity in all its functions.

Closing date: Monday 22nd June at 12pm
