KS2 TEACHERS REQUIRED FOR AUGUST 2019
The British International School in Laos - will require additional Teachers for the next academic year which begins in August 2019. The vacancies will be in Vientiane and Savannakhet.
We are looking for teachers who have a sense of adventure, who want to be somewhere different or want to work in a fast-expanding multi-campus organisation in an attractive developing country in S.E Asia.
Panyathip offers excellent opportunities for Newly Qualified (NQT) and Experienced Teachers alike, since there are many opportunities for those who wish to develop their skills, take the initiative in bringing new ideas and play a part in the development of a relatively new, growing and highly supportive school.
The School's Vision "Become the Best that You can Be" is our guiding principle and recent developments have shown what that means in very practical ways. These include the opening of a purpose-built Primary Campus in April 2018, just a few minutes from the Secondary School (where the Primary School used to be housed). The purpose built Early Years' is also very close to the Primary so it is possible to ensure continuity of education through a one-school approach in Vientiane. Our EY/Primary Campus in Nonsavanh Village in a developing part of Vientiane is within easy reach of the other campuses. And, our all through purpose-built campus in Savannakhet is well suited to its family approach for children from 3 to 16.
The School has recently been elected to FOBISIA Membership and is currently working through COBIS Compliance.
The School’s curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England, and in addition in Early Years we deliver the Early Years International Curriculum (IEYC), in the Primary School the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and in Secondary we offer Cambridge Checkpoints and IGCSE. In Primary, Class Teachers take most subjects though we also have specialists who teach Music, Art, IT, PE and Chinese.
The ideal candidates will be those who are comfortable in teaching students for whom English is an additional language, and who understand the importance of differentiation in the classroom.
Throughout our campuses students and staff are seen as individuals and classes are relatively small allowing the team to have a strong collegial approach. By and large our students are keen to learn and teachers are able to teach rather than have to maintain discipline.
Living and Working in Laos - the downloads available on this site explain what living and working in Laos is like, and our application procedures can be downloaded too.
Panyathip - The British International School in Laos is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
