Loughborough Amherst School seeks to appoint an exceptional Houseparent who will play a central role within the girls’ boarding house.

As a houseparent, you will manage the domestic arrangements for the boarders within the house, with responsibility for assisting with the pastoral care of those in the house and contributing to the supervision and well-being of the boarders.

Experience of working with children in an education/school environment would be an advantage.

 

The successful applicant will work:

· Three evening shifts from 16:30 until 22:30, after which you will finish your duty and hand over to the Head of LAS Boarding

· One overnight shift from 22:30 to 08:30.

· One weekend with an overnight shift. Your weekend duty hours of work will be Saturday 10:30-10:30 and Sunday 10:30 - 08:30 

Accommodation is provided during the overnight working hours, and it is essential that the staff member resides in the house during this time. All meals are provided whilst on duty, as per the meal schedule for boarders.

Loughborough Amherst School (LAS) is an independent Catholic day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 4 to 18. Originally Our Lady’s Convent School, the School was founded in 1850 by the Rosminian Order of the Sisters of Providence.  In 2015, the School became part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation and was renamed 'Loughborough Amherst School' when it became fully coeducational in 2019.  In the same year, Amherst welcomed its first boarders as part of its elite tennis programme, in partnership with Loughborough University National Tennis Academy (LUNTA).

Loughborough is 3 miles from the M1, Leicester and Nottingham are only 30 and 40 minutes' drive and there is a direct rail service to London St Pancras International taking from 90 minutes.
