Law Teacher

Closing Date: 14 May 2021

Proposed Start Date: September 2021

Salary: Main/Upper pay scale

This is an exciting opportunity to join our outstanding school as a teacher of Law.  Although this is a part-time role we would consider full-time if a suitable second subject was offered.

Law is a popular subject within our school.  As one of the only schools in West Berkshire offering Law, we are delighted to see students opting for Law at both AS and A Level.

NQT’s and unqualified teachers would be considered, providing you have a Law Degree and are able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of the law, especially case law.

The Downs School, a Foundation, 11-18 comprehensive school, is a successful, oversubscribed and popular school serving the Downs area of West Berkshire.  The roll is over 1200 with a well-established sixth form.  Results at all levels are consistently above national averages and Ofsted described our students as having ‘excellent personal and social skills’ who ‘achieve well academically’.

The Downs School has good road links to Newbury, Reading, Didcot and Oxford – situated just 10 minutes from the A34.
