This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-resourced and vibrant Chaplaincy Team in the largest Catholic boarding & day school in the UK, working alongside the resident priest Chaplain. We are seeking a skilled, compassionate Lay Chaplain to serve and support the community of boarding and day students, as well as parents and staff. Applications from lay people and members of Religious Orders are welcome.
The successful candidate will be well-qualified, confident, articulate and sensitive in discussing theological, moral and spiritual issues with young people of different faiths. The ability to devise and lead liturgies and prayer opportunities is essential. There is an option of contributing to RE/Theology teaching if desired, in particular the Sixth Form General RE programme.
This post may be residential or non-residential; excellent family accommodation is available, rent-free. This post may also suit a married couple wishing to undertake a job share or both looking for full time Chaplaincy roles. Candidates will be practising Catholic and ideally will have experience of Chaplaincy work/youth ministry, preferably in a school context. Applications are also welcome from new graduates and those making a career change; training will be provided, as appropriate. Counselling experience or interest would be welcome.
