This is a new post and we are looking to appoint an excellent practitioner of Mathematics to play a lead role in developing the teaching and learning, in Mathematics, within the school and an opportunity to work on projects beyond the school as part of Bridge Academy Trust. This lead practitioner post will provide excellent opportunities for a talented and ambitious individual to gain strategic experience with a view to progressing into senior leadership in the future.

This post is ideal for someone who has been teaching for a few years and who is excellent in the classroom, but does not want the responsibility of Management within a department (or now wishes for a change of direction). Instead, the development of pedagogy, transition work, staff and groups of students are integral to this new post.

As a new position, this role will evolve, but the key specific areas of responsibility include:

· Sharing, and leading on best practice with regards to Teaching & Learning (specifically in Mathematics & Numeracy) for student engagement & progress

· Staff Development for teachers of Maths & Numeracy

· Transition work between key stages (KS1-2-3-4).

Moulsham High School has recently led the development of Bridge Academy Trust, a brand new Multi Academy Trust. The successful candidate will work at Moulsham High School, but will also have the opportunity to work for the Trust, developing staff and practice within Maths at other local schools. This is a permanent full time (although a 0.8 part time would be considered) position, with the Trust work set for an initial two years.
