The post has arisen as part of our strategic plan to increase the capacity of the English department and to facilitate our focus on the development of teaching and learning through the use of an expert coaching team.  The position provides an exciting career opportunity for an ambitious candidate who would like to further develop their career as part of our dynamic teaching and learning team with a relentless drive for the highest learning and achievement.

Due to the nature of the post, the successful candidate will have a track record of excellent teaching and examination results alongside an ability to mentor, coach and lead others.

In 2021, our TAG Attainment 8 score was 56.43 and 67% achieved a grade 5+ in English and Maths. 84% of students achieved 4+ in English and Maths which is a fantastic achievement.

The school serves the town of Whitchurch and the surrounding area and is within easy reach of Winchester, Newbury, Basingstoke and Southampton with good transport links to the M3 and A34.

Situated on the River Test and surrounded by picturesque rolling countryside, Whitchurch is Hampshire’s smallest town.   Much of this charming town is a conservation area and contains many listed and notable buildings.  It is also host to Whitchurch Silk Mill, a 19th century water mill which is one of Hampshire's hidden gems.
