Required to start in September 2019 or earlier if possible
Cottenham Village College is on a journey to become an outstanding school where learning is at the heart of everything we do. We require highly skilled professionals who are able to plan effective lessons that allow pupils to achieve the very best outcomes and be well prepared for society. In return, we offer high quality professional learning, committed students who behave exceptionally well and strong leadership.
The Lead Practitioner role is central to the college’s continuing progress and you will join the team at an exciting time, developing best practice at all key stages, as well as working with Senior Leaders to continue to raise the quality of teaching and learning across the school. Applicants will be able to teach all scientific disciplines, a proven track of excellent teaching and of collaborating with others to develop creative and rigorous practice.
This is a new post and an important one in strengthening curriculum progression and pedagogy from primary to secondary and sharing and promoting best subject practice alongside our Ad Astrea roles in Astrea Academy Trust. The post offers you the opportunity to continue to develop your leadership skills through sharing best practice and pedagogy and through leading subject-focused professional development. The school is committed to transforming teaching and learning through research-informed practice and through working with other schools to drive innovation. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone who aspires to be a ‘specialist leader of education’ and wishes to contribute to creating a strong team where the teaching ensures all pupils flourish and make outstanding progress.
Cottenham Village College sits in the top 4% of schools nationally and we have excellent facilities which are well resourced.
