An opportunity for a Lead Teacher - EAL (English as an Additional Language) is open at our Junior School Diamanthorst (JSD) in the beautiful city of The Hague. This is a key leadership role within the school’s structure and comes with a Responsibility Allowance. The start date is April 2019, however, a January or September 2019 start is also possible for the right candidate. We are looking for a fully qualified teacher with experience teaching EAL to students in the primary age-range.

Are you an ambitious professional and an outstanding teacher? Do you have up-to-date knowledge of the English National Curriculum, Assessment for Learning, the NASSEA Assessment Framework, Multilingualism and the role of Translanguaging? Are you interested in an international career path? This position could be the perfect match for you. 

In this role you will: work in partnership with colleagues and parents; lead the EAL Team to develop the provision to support EAL students; develop subject specific vocabulary for students across the school collaborating closely with the class teachers; support and welcome our multi-cultural school families; celebrate our diversity through educational experiences and above all enable our students to feel secure and included in all aspects of their learning in our caring school. You will also join the BSN Cross School EAL Team representing JSD, who work together for all our learners of English aged 3 -18 at the BSN.
