Required for September 2019 for this heavily over-subscribed, flourishing and successful 11 – 18 Church of England Academy, an award-winning “Outstanding School” (SIAMS 2016). This year 85% of A-level students gained A*-C grades and their overall progress has been judged as ‘excellent’ (Alps 2018). The sixth form was judged to be Outstanding at our most recent Ofsted inspection.
An enthusiastic and committed teacher is sought to lead the teaching of Government and Politics and contribute to the teaching of Law at A-level.
This temporary position becomes available due to the present post holder taking maternity leave. The contract will commence on 1st September 2019 and will last for the duration of the maternity leave which is expected to be until the end of May 2020.
The two subjects are popular and are well resourced. The current A*-C A-level pass rate is 94% for Government and Politics (Alps 3) and 88% for Law (Alps 4). Progress rates have been above the national average for a number of years.
The school of 1000 pupils, plus a Sixth Form of 300 pupils, is attractively and conveniently situated close to the Ribble Valley and has excellent motorway connections via M65 to M6 and M62.
