Applicants with suitable qualifications are invited to apply for the following Leadership position: (Co2) Leader of Learning: English / Humanities 

Experience in teaching HSC Advanced English is essential.  

Position commences 19 November 2018 or by negotiation. 

Co2 point “Leaders of” positions are offered a contract within a set 3-year cycle as co-ordinator. A new cycle commences in 2019. 

All co-ordinator positions must be advertised every 3 years within the school and incumbents are eligible for reappointment. The person appointed will have a permanent teaching position in the school and will involve a teaching load. 

Teacher Accreditation: 

Teachers who are appointed to a leadership position, whether new to the position or applying to be reappointed for the contract period 2019 - 2021, should have begun, or will begin to make a commitment to complete the requirements of Accreditation To Work Teach and Lead, Category E, during this next triennium cycle. 

Applicants should show a willingness to understand and participate fully in the life of the College.

About St Mary’s Catholic College Casino

St Mary's Catholic College is located in Casino, New South Wales. The school is co-educational and caters for students from Year 7-12. Approximately 370 students from Casino and the surrounding areas attend the school and are taught by 37 teaching staff. 

The school was founded in 1978. The first Year 12 cohort graduated from the school in 1994.

The school has technology facilities, a library, sports fields, music facilities and art workshops. The school also has a farm. 

Curriculum

The New South Wales Board of Studies mandates the school curriculum. As the school is Catholic, students study religious education. In the first two years of secondary schooling, students are introduced to courses that are considered electives in the later years secondary school. This allows students to engage with a broad array of subjects so that they will be able to make informed subject choices in the upper secondary years. The school runs a homework centre on Monday afternoon to provide extra support to students.
