The successful applicant will provide quality teaching in PE through all key stages to enable all students to aspire to and achieve their highest potential and have proven evidence of leading and developing a PE/Sports department. You will also be able to demonstrate and work towards our philosophy of creating a high quality education at the heart of the community. There may be further opportunities available in the Trust for an exceptional candidate and therefore teachers on the upper pay scale will be considered.
Our PE department works hard to provide additional sport opportunities for our students and can benefit from use of external facilities and classes provided by our links to the community.
Stamford Welland Academy opened in October 2014 and this is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding academy who puts values each and every member of our community. We are currently upgrading areas of our building and looking to develop a sixth form with links to our local community in Stamford. In January we had our most recent Ofsted and were very pleased to be graded as good with Ofsted confirming our mission where ‘Every member of our community is known, valued and supported to achieve in all areas at the highest level to become successful, confident and responsible for the pursuit of lifelong learning.’
Stamford Welland Academy is proud to be part of the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust along with North Cambridge Academy, Ely College, Swavesey Village College, Nene Park Academy, West Town Primary Academy, Sawtry Village Academy, Sawtry Junior Academy and Downham Feoffees Primary School. This is an exciting time for the partnership. Having already made significant impact on progress and achievement, we are determined for the academy to be the school of first choice and a source of pride for its community.

Stamford Welland Academy is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, non-selective secondary school for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Stamford, Lincolnshire, and has 500 pupils on its roll.
Stamford Welland Academy is the only state secondary school in Stamford and it is sponsored by the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust.

At our latest Ofsted inspection, we were judged as ‘Good’ in all areas. The report published in February 2017 heaped praise on our leadership team and followed our impressive Key Stage 4 results which were also the best results the school has ever recorded.
The inspectors said: “The highly effective leadership of the headteacher has led to rapid improvement at the school since the last inspection. He has built a strong and effective team of senior leaders who are determined and tenacious in their drive for school improvement.
“Each pupil is known as an individual and the work of the trust, school leaders and the governors reflects the schools’ ambition and aspiration that every pupil will be successful.”
The inspectors praised the academy’s pupils and found that both parents and pupils spoke highly of their experiences of the academy and said: “Pupils are rightly proud of their school and their individual achievements. Their positive attitudes to learning ensure that they make good progress and grow in confidence. They discuss quite complex issues with maturity and respect, both for each other and the topic under discussion.
“Pupils feel very safe and secure because of the caring and supportive environment that has been created at the school.
“Pupils enjoy coming to school and are punctual to school and lessons. They come to lessons prepared to learn and show an eagerness to do well. The good relationships that exist between staff and pupils at the school contribute to the welcoming and harmonious environment and to pupils’ good behaviour.”
CMAT was also ranked as the fifth best performing multi-academy trust in the country for the level of progress students make in the Department for Education’s multi-academy trust league table published earlier this month.”
