Park High School is a highly successful 11-18 mixed school with nearly 1600 students in a pleasant location in Stanmore. Learning Assistant – Reading and Literacy (32.5 hours per week, term-time only) Actual Salary: £14,090 - £15,084 including London Weighting (HO2-HO3 £18,330 - £19,623) dependant on experience.
We are looking to appoint talented and committed individuals with the qualities, skills and drive necessary to fulfil this key role within the Communications and Literacy Team. In this role, you will be working closely with a range of students from across the school. Primarily, you will be delivering the Thinking Reading programme, which will involve 1:1 reading sessions with students. Knowledge of the programme is not essential, as the successful candidate will receive full training and support in delivering the programme.
You should have a good all round education and have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent). This post may suit a candidate with a first degree who has an interest in education. Some experience of work with students of secondary school age is preferable. Alternatively, experience of working in a primary setting, supporting reading, would also be useful. This vacancy has arisen as a result of the implementation of new reading and literacy interventions within the school.
