Are you committed to children's pastoral and academic development?
Are you ready to begin your leadership journey, or looking to develop it further, as part of our experienced and dedicated team of Learning Coordinators?
We seek applications from those of the Catholic faith, all faiths and of no faith but who are supportive of our Christian values and ethos.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified teacher, in any discipline, to the post of Learning Coordinator (year group to be confirmed in consultation with the successful candidate and existing Learning Coordinators).
The right candidate would be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and manage the attendance, behaviour, achievement, progress and pastoral provision for a year group of students. The Learning Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting the team of form tutors and other teaching and support staff as required. Additionally, the successful candidate would be responsible for co-ordinating and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team, curriculum leaders, support staff and all relevant staff, LA representatives, external agencies and parents/carers. You would take overall responsibility for the pastoral care of students in that year group, liaising closely with other Learning Coordinators to ensure continuity and progression across the Key stages; and in order to address transition at key stages.
Working at St. Mary’s is an extraordinary opportunity. Our previous OFSTED inspection judged us as Outstanding in every category, and our most recent S48 Inspection (2018) also judged us as Outstanding in every area. Over the last 4 years, exam results have risen at both GCSE & A Level. The ‘Progress 8’ score for 2018 was +0.61, which puts the school in the top 10% in the country, and the 2019 also placed us ‘above average’. At A Level the proportion of A*-B Grades as well as students enrolling at elite Russell Group Universities has risen significantly over each of the last 5 years, with a number of students holding acceptances to Oxbridge for September 2021.We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Added to this, the school is also at an extremely exciting juncture in its future. Demand is high, and owing to intense oversubscription, we will be 5 years through expansion to 6FE, with an extra-ordinary 7FE in Sept 2021. We have also won over £7m in capital bids in the last 4 years and are enjoying brand new cutting edge facilities as a result. The school faces an extremely strong and positive financial future.
We are passionately committed to developing staff and managing workload to ensure that colleagues enjoy their work and recognise St. Mary’s as an almost-uniquely positive place to teach and enjoy their careers. Our Surveys this year showed that 96% of staff enjoy their work at St Mary's, 97% agree that leaders do all they can to ensure a motivated and respected staff, 100% of students enjoy their learning and believe that behaviour around the school is good, and 97% of parents would recommend St. Mary’s to other parents. We are passionately committed to developing staff and managing workload to ensure that colleagues enjoy their work and recognise St. Mary’s as an almost-uniquely positive place to teach and enjoy their careers.
A DBS disclosure is required for all successful applicants. St Mary’s is committed to the equality of opportunity for all applicants, and we reserve the right to interview on a rolling basis, therefore an early application is advisable.
