Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding post and seeking to extend your career in special education?

Moorcroft School is looking to appoint Behaviour Learning Mentors to join the school. We are seeking applications not only from people wanting to develop as Teaching Assistants, but also from graduates who are considering a teaching career in special education.

Moorcroft is a school for Secondary age young people with Severe, Complex and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and ASD.  We are part of a multi-academy trust with a range of special schools and are planning to open two new free schools in the next few years.

Moorcroft caters for a range of pupils and has specialist classes for ASD pupils. As a Behaviour Learning Mentor you will be supporting teachers by supporting pupils with challenging behaviour; individually and in small groups. You will provide training and advice for staff and will support teachers with the implementation of a range of interventions. You will also work alongside a range of professionals both internally and externally. There will be opportunities to contribute to cross-school teams both in school and throughout the Academy. There is a wealth of expertise in the Academy with opportunities for training and professional development.

We currently have several permanent positions available.  We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking people, with a passion for young people with Learning Difficulties, ASD and Challenging Behaviour, to join our team.  We are particularly looking for graduates seeking a teaching career in special education sometime in the future.

Moorcroft has recently launched an initiative for graduate teaching assistants where you can gain experience of leading a class before applying for a recognised teacher training course.

We offer a comprehensive and bespoke induction programme for all new staff.

If you would like to discuss this post further please contact Andrew Sanders, Headteacher by emailing, info@moorcroftschool.co.uk

The Eden Academy may, from time to time, require an employee to be relocated temporarily or permanently to one of its other schools. Any proposal to relocate will be carried out with due consultation and reasonable notice.

CLOSING DATE: 28 January 2019 - NOON

INTERVIEW DATE: w/c 4 and 11 February 2019

CVs will not be accepted

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks.
