This is a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Mentor/Teaching Assistant to join our school, working alongside a highly skilled Additional Educational Needs team, supporting our students. This role will inspire, challenge, and drive you to develop, alongside professionals, the highest standards of education and care, making a difference to the lives of our young people.
Your role will involve working closely with class teachers to ensure students are able to fully participate in the mainstream classroom curriculum. The work is varied and will include in-class support, small group work and one to one support of students with additional educational needs.
You will be required to assist with school break and/or lunchtime duties.
Ideally (but not essentially) you will have previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with specific additional learning needs. Equally as important, however, are the ‘softer’ skills needed to engage, inspire and encourage our young people to achieve their very best.
We welcome applications from those wishing to apply for the maximum number of hours available (30) as well as those wishing to apply on reduced hours to fit around other commitments, for example dropping off or picking up children from school. If you would like to apply on this basis and are shortlisted, please discuss this at interview.
Full training will be given.
Ralph Allen is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children: the successful applicant must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and will need to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.
