The Directors of the Gardener Schools Group have established Kew House School in the conviction that there exists an opportunity for a different kind of independent secondary school in London - academically demanding but with a modern approach to selection criteria, the flexibility of the curriculum and recognition of creativity and talent.
We are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to provide academic support for a student who has a hearing impairment. The successful candidate will be caring and engaging, willing to develop their skills with an adaptable and flexible approach. No prior SEN qualifications are required but the applicant must demonstrate a good standard of education to GCE or degree level.
You will be joining a hardworking and friendly team dedicated to providing the best possible standard of education to all pupils at this school. You will be expected to develop professionally and will be given access to training to enable you to do so. You will be required to attend review meetings and department meetings. There will be a need to respect confidentiality at all times. The post may suit a gap year student.
- Educated to at least A level equivalent
- Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in an education setting
- Ability to effectively liaise with class teachers to make adaptations for student to access a lesson
- Ability to monitor and assist with specialist equipment
- Ability to use initiative and discretion in personal relationships and provide feedback to SENCO regarding student progress
- Good administrative and organisational skills
