Learning Support Assistant

Up to 25 hours per week – 43.7 weeks (term time + 1 week Inset days + annual leave)

08:10am – 2:10pm daily

£11,263 per annum (£10.31 per hour)


As a result of staff changes, we are seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join our established team. The role is to provide assistance in the support and inclusion of children with special education needs in the classroom and school-wide activities across the key stages.


It is an exciting time to be joining our Learning Support area, as its provision is expanding and the facilities are being further enhanced to provide an even higher quality learning environment for our learners.  


This role will be ideal for those wishing to progress a career in the education sector and support their current studies and/or those wishing for a work/life balance.  Work patterns of 5 days a week or 2 day a week job share will be considered, therefore, please indicate on your letter of application.


The successful candidate will ideally: 

  • Successful experience working with young people either in a school or educational environment; 
  • Be educated to Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent qualification /experience  
  • The ability to establish rapport and to maintain respectful and trusting relationships 
  • Have the ability to overcome barriers to learning with young people by implementing school policies, procedures and identified support mechanisms  
  • Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills 
  • Have a passion to improve learning and work collaboratively with teaching staff to aid the progress of all students and develop their confidence 
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety, safeguarding and child protection 
  • Have commitment to equality and diversity and inclusion
