Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding post and seeking a career in special education?
Moorcroft School is looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join the school in as soon as possible. We are seeking applications not only from people wanting to develop as Learning Support Assistants, but also from graduates who are considering a teaching career in special education.
Moorcroft is a school for Secondary age young people with Severe, Complex and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and ASD. We are part of a multi-academy trust with Grangewood, Pentland Field and Alexandra Schools and are planning to open two new free schools in the next few years.
As a Learning Support Assistant you will be supporting a Teacher by working with pupils individually and in small groups. There will be opportunities to contribute to cross-school teams both in school and throughout the Academy. There is a wealth of expertise in the Academy with opportunities for training and professional development.
We currently have several permanent positions available. We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking people, with a passion for young people with Learning Difficulties, to join our team of Learning Support Assistants. We are particularly looking for candidates seeking a challenge by working with young people with challenging behaviour or graduates looking for a teaching career in special education sometime in the future.
Moorcroft has recently launched an initiative for graduate Teaching Assistants where you can gain experience of leading a class before applying for a recognised teacher training course. For those who prefer a career as a Teaching Assistant, we offer opportunities to become a TA2 where you are responsible for supporting a specialism in a classroom setting.
We offer a comprehensive and be spoke induction programme for all new staff.
If you would like to discuss this post further please contact Andrew Sanders, Headteacher by emailing, info@moorcroftschool.co.uk
The Eden Academy may, from time to time, require an employee to be relocated temporarily or permanently to one of its other schools. Any proposal to relocate will be carried out with due consultation and reasonable notice.
