We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide support for a Key Stage 3 student with special needs. Working with classroom teachers and the SENCO, you will provide in and out of class support to the student who is learning in a highly academic environment. You will be responsive to the individual needs of the student and ensure they are able to access the curriculum, as well as all learning activities and experiences. A key part of the role is to enhance and develop the independence of the student.
Experience of working with or an understanding of hearing impairment will be advantageous.
In addition to supporting this student, you may work with other students who have been identified by the SENCO as needing additional support.
Strong communication skills are essential, and experience in working with young people in a school setting would be particularly desirable. Part of the role will be to provide administrative support to the SENCO and some administrative experience would therefore be useful.
