Are you looking to make a difference to the lives of children and young people with SEND? Then you could be exactly the person we are looking for at The Bishop of Winchester Academy.

We are looking for a creative and experienced teaching assistant to work with students who have  speech and language difficulties

You will be responsible for overseeing Speech and Language support for students.  Providing direct practical support for the qualified teacher by establishing good relationships with all students giving appropriate comfort and care as to assist students (including those students with specialist learning needs) to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant will have:

· experience of working with children and young people with  SEND or Speech and Language needs.

· ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents.

· experience of working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

· commitment to prioritising the needs of the students in all that you do.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
