Salary: UCL Academy Scale 4, Spine Point 18 £21,546 pro rata to term time only Start date: As soon as possible
Contract: One year fixed-term contract until end of academic year (31 August 2018), term time only following successful probationary period

We are seeking to appoint a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our popular and oversubscribed STEM specialist academy. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and aspiring practitioners.
This role will be to give general practical support in the classroom, or through withdrawal, to individual or groups of students. You will be expected to help identified children achieve their potential by overcoming barriers to learning, both inside and outside the academy.
The SEND department is committed to recruiting talented, highly skilled individuals to support the provision for students in need of learning support. Combining subject knowledge with an expertise in particular areas of need (such as MLD, ASD, SEMH and SLCN), the LSA team is deployed by the SENDCo to support pupils in accessing the broad and balanced curriculum offered to all learners at the Academy. The SEN team also benefits from the in-house expertise of a Speech and Language Therapist and Educational Psychologist, enabling a flexible approach to specialist intervention.
