Grade D – salary points 9-11 

Actual Salary £21,882 - £22,631 per annum (£25,119 - £25,979 FTE) Term Time only plus 5 days - 37 Hours per week (8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am

3.30pm Friday) with a 30 minute break each day.

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to cover maternity leave from 01 September 2024 to 31 May 2025 (with the potential for a July start).

Our team supports learning activities and offers support to some of our most vulnerable students in the Academy. This is, in our view, one of the most rewarding roles we have in the Academy.

Our team of LSA’s are involved in project-based learning which ensures that our

students can complete exciting work based around specific time periods or books

and make clear progress. This is delivered alongside more traditional subjects

like Maths, English, Science, Design and Technology, Computing, Music and Art

as well as others.

The role involves travelling with the group to all lessons and offering help and

support to specific students within the group. You will get to know a

small cohort of students and their families really well, being able to offer

outstanding support as the students move through the Academy on their own

learning journeys.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have had experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs supporting within the classroom as well as delivering successful intervention programmes to enhance the students’ progress     
  • Have knowledge of the New SEN Code of Practice   
  • Ideally, hold a Level 2 NVQ in Supporting teaching and Learning or equivalent education focused qualifications 
  • To be calm, efficient, and highly organised, with the flexibility to work with other faculties on occasion across our Academy is essential. Ability to work under pressure and willingness to adapt to the needs of the Academy is a must
