Doha College is a high profile leading British international school, for children aged 3-18, with a focus on developing a growth mindset within our students and staff. We offer a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum that follows the UK National Curriculum.

We are now looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant in secondary school, for a child with special educational needs: cerebral palsy with speech, language and communication needs, to start at the end of August 2018. The post holder will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to the child, responding to their personal needs and ensuring that they are able to access all learning activities. The Learning Support Assistant will be required to establish a constructive relationship with the child where they are encouraged to interact with others and engage in classroom activities and set challenging and demanding expectations that promote self-esteem and independence.

The ideal candidate would have some experience working with children with cerebral palsy and speech, language and communication needs and have an understanding of how to provide support to achieve the very best outcomes, some experience of working in an educational setting and above all, a supportive and sensitive approach to children with specific needs.

This is a non-sponsored position and only candidates with family sponsorship currently residing in Qatar will be considered.  This is a fixed-term position for one year in the first instance and is funded through an external source. The post holder will be employed to provide support to a specific child and will only remain in the College’s employment while the funding is provided and while the child remains a pupil at the College.

This position will be based at our Al Waab Campus.
