Learning Support Assistant

Our Learning Support Assistants play a vital role in assisting students with differing needs and abilities to maximise their potential and achievement.  

Ideally we are looking for someone with relevant experience of supporting the learning needs of children or supporting children with special needs, and able to actively contribute to their learning, personal and social needs, while encouraging independence. Key duties will include assisting and advancing learning of identified students in a range of settings including working 1:1 and supporting within class.  

A positive and flexible approach is essential.  Other qualities required include patience, excellent communication and motivational skills, and being able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team building good relationships with colleagues and students. Experience of supporting students or relevant qualifications are advantageous although full training will be offered to the right candidate.  

We are an inclusive and high achieving school and celebrate student progress and development as well as academic achievement. We are located on the borders of SW London and have 1,300 students on roll including 250 in our 6th form. Ideally we are looking for someone to work Monday – Friday across the school day although we will consider reduced days/hours for the right candidate.

Hinchley Wood School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school based in Surrey, for students between the ages of 11 and 18. It gained academy status in 2012 and multi academy status in 2019 - Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership.  In October 2019 Hinchley Wood Primary School joined the Partnership.
