Westminster Kingsway College is looking for an Access to Business and Law lecturer to join a dynamic team.  

You will design, develop and deliver learning programmes in accordance with the OCN requirements, to meet the needs of students and utilise a diverse range of innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies.  

 Main duties and responsibilities: 

  • To teach Access to Business and Law
  •  To act as a lead tutor for a group of students 
  • To develop teaching and assessment material 
  • Play an active role in the marketing of the business through such activities as open days through liaison with employers and professional bodies 
  • To act as a personal tutor and undertake the duties associated with this pastoral role. 
  • Undertake the administrative duties required of lecturers including assistance with enrolment, recruitment, induction and providing management information as required.  

This post will report to the Programme Manager. The holder will be working in close collaboration with a vibrant team of lecturers and will be expected to offer both academic and pastoral support to a group of students.  

Educated to degree level in business and/or law, you will also have a teacher training qualification at level 5 or above. Professional experience in a related field is also needed as well as a proven track record of teaching and developing curriculum at level 3 and above. You will be required to teach a range of business and law subjects.   

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. IT proficiency is required with the Microsoft Office packages as well as Moodle or another VLE and student monitoring systems such as ProMonitor. 

You will also have good administrative and analytical skills, be proactive in maintaining full and accurate records of various types, and contribute actively to the process of continuous quality improvement.

Westminster Kingsway College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in the London Borough of Camden and the London Borough of Westminster, serving pupils from the age of 16 and above. The college has approximately 14,000 students on record every year.

Westminster Kingsway College was founded in 2000 after the amalgamation of Westminster College and Kingsway College. It has learning centres across London in King’s Cross, Regents Park, Camden, Victoria and Soho.
