The Exciting Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated lecturer, with a Hairdressing background to join our close-knit team on a full-time, permanent basis.
You will become part of a highly skilled staff network, who are passionate about raising and supporting aspirations, providing social mobility and an essential talent pool for the local, regional and national economy. We actively encourage the development and growth of our staff, from our internal ‘Be Phenomenal’ programme to building relationships with local stakeholders and developing opportunities for staff and students.
The successful candidate will be required to travel across sites.
The start date for this role will be 19 August 2024.
What You Will Be Doing:
· Teaching within the Hairdressing Team, delivering; hairdressing and barbering at different levels.
· Develop and share resources for the course/subject.
· Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities.
· Complete required assessment duties in relation to student assignments.
What We Are Looking For:
· A level 3 qualification in relevant subject area and appropriate professional experience.
· A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment.
· An assessor’s award (or equivalent) qualification.
· A strong experience within the hairdressing sector.
· Successful teaching experience within the hairdressing curriculum.

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms.
Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
