We are now recruiting for a Lecturer in Maths to join our team working across all of our college campuses (Deeside, Yale, Northop, Bersham Road and Llysfasi) for 1 year on a Fixed Term Contract. In this role you will be responsible for performing scheduled teaching, preparing learning materials, marking students work, liaising with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. The ideal candidate will have a proven and established background in teaching Maths at GCSE level as well as experience of delivering functional or essential skills courses as this will be a key part of this position. We would also be keen to speak to candidates with experience of teaching Digital Literacy.
It is essential that the successful candidate is qualified to degree level or equivalent in Maths or a related topic. They will also possess a teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or C&G7407. As a Lecturer at Coleg Cambria it is essential that you are able to demonstrate an understanding of developments within your own specialist area and how you ensure you are keeping up to date with such developments. It is also vital that you are able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the broad range of learning needs of our students and how you are able to support these within a learning environment.
In addition, proficiency in MS Office is essential and experience of using Google Docs is highly desirable. You also need to be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets. We are looking for a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can display energy and enthusiasm for teaching.
The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.
