Lecturer in Railway Engineering x1 As part of the national network of colleges an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a lecturer in Rail Engineering. Initially delivering Level 3 Rail Engineering (Technical Knowledge) in liaison with NTAR and Northern Rail it is then expected that the successful candidate will support the development of the provision and further enhancement of resources to meet the needs of industry. No teaching experience necessary but you must have industry experience and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification within an agreed timescale (if not already obtained). The specific pathway: Traction & Rolling Stock. Understanding of vehicle design, construction, maintenance and operation. Working knowledge of the traction and rolling stock systems, sub systems and components which include mechanical, electrical, process controller and fluid power equipment. Systems include traction, wheel sets, brakes, train protection, air conditioning and ventilation, customer information, doors, vehicle trim and fittings Able to find, diagnose and correct faults, identify potential faults & defects within electrical circuits and maintain and renew a range of types of traction and rolling stock. Able to use a range of fastenings including crimping and torque correctly.
Lecturer in Construction Plant Maintenance and Land-Based Engineering x3 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lecturer to join the team in delivering Construction Plant Maintenance and Land-Based engineering. As part of the role you will be required to undertake delivery and assessment of Construction Plant Maintenance and land-based engineering to enable learners to succeed. Key aspects include the delivery of theory and practical on all aspects of vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs, fault finding to include electronic vehicle system diagnostic, welding and fabrication. The successful candidate must have industry experience in Construction Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Engineering, a level 3 industry specific qualification, along with GCSE (or equivalent) maths & English. No teaching experience necessary but you must be willing to work towards a teaching qualification within an agreed timescale (if not already obtained).
