About the role

The leisure industry employs over 300,000 people in leisure facilities across the country and plays a vital role in improving public health.  The role of the leisure team member is to support, enhance and deliver the day to day operations and services of a leisure facility within our school campus.

As a Leisure Team Member the right candidate will undertake a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) this of which will enable supervision of a swimming pool ensuring the safety and welfare of all users, the role will also consist of the supervision of specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and the safe handling and set up of equipment.

Who we are looking for

If you are keen on health and fitness and enjoy meeting different people, this Leisure Team Member apprenticeship opportunity could be ideal for you. To become a Leisure Team Member you need to be outgoing and friendly. You’ll also need to be able to motivate and inspire people.

We ask that you are a strong swimmer - e.g. Swim 100 metres (4 Lengths) continuously on your front and back that you are enthusiastic, positive and outgoing but most importantly, have a passion for customer service as the role involves admin for the swim programme.

Charnwood College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-18 academy with sixth form, situated in the west of Loughborough in Leicestershire. The academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust and is governed by a Local Governing Body.

The secondary academy has expressive arts facilities which include a dedicated music suite and dance and drama studio. In addition, its sports facilities include a floodlit, all-weather 3G sports pitch, a new sports centre, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a gym, a fitness suite, and extensive playing fields.
