Job overview

An outstanding opportunity has arisen to work in Gloucestershire’s largest comprehensive school.

We are looking to appoint a Librarian to organise and manage the daily running of the learning centre and the library.

We have a fabulous library housed within our Learning Centre for all students to use throughout the school day and beyond. Our well-stocked library contains over 18,000 books and 1,500 periodicals, with fiction books categorised by genre to make it easy for our students to access.

During the day the learning centre gets used for all sorts of events overseen by the librarian and Literacy Leader, such as reading intervention, reading buddy’s, peer mentoring, private study, homework club, book club, poetry competitions, debating club plus much more. Alongside this, key events are run throughout the school year to promote usage of the library and reading for pleasure, making the library the hub of the school.

For further information about the role including a job description and details on how to apply, please see our Candidate Information Pack.

We are an equal opportunities employer and value and respect diversity across our whole school community. Bournside is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check. We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date.
