Librarian

37 hours per week, term time plus 5 days

Scale 5 (Point 22 - 25)

Actual starting salary: £18,264.13

Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is part of Trinity Multi-Academy Trust and transferred in October 2018.  The flagship academy, Trinity Academy Halifax is a model of excellence for the growing number of academies and free schools joining the trust. The team behind the success at Trinity are working to help those joining our trust to replicate their successes in improving the outcomes for children and young people.

The GCSE results in the Summer of 2018 were a validation of the work which we have already undertaken in the Academy. The results our students obtained means the Academy can now be recognised as the most improved school in Yorkshire. However, we are determined not to rest on our laurels and are always looking for ways to better serve our students.

The potential is huge and the fantastic opportunities this presents require the expertise and commitment of dedicated staff and key to our continuing success is the quality of teaching.  As a trust we invest in the professional development of staff and are able to offer comprehensive, regular CPD opportunities for all staff.  This includes cross-trust working.

We are currently looking for a Librarian to run the academy’s library and learning resource centre. You will be responsible for the day to day running and organisation of the library provision and resources, ensuring the library is stocked with relevant and engaging texts and the space is managed to promote reading and literacy to students.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.

we reserve the right to close this vacancy, should we receive sufficient applicants before the deadline .

Trinity Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are made subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer and want our staff profile to reflect the community we serve.

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).

The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focused on improving outcomes for our students. Comprehensive pastoral systems are embedded to ensure the behaviour of students is outstanding and they are happy and supported in their learning.

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust.
