Permanent 52 weeks

37.5 hours per week between the hours of 8am - 6pm

Salary scale: £20,444 (NJC 7)

Start date – as soon as possible, subject to satisfactory recruitment checks being completed

Wargrave House Limited operates a 38 weekly day non-maintained special school and independent specialist college for 5 to 25 year olds.  We have an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding education and care to autistic individuals.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Maintenance Operative to join our hardworking committed multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking to appoint a flexible and reliable Maintenance Operative who holds a variety of maintenance skills and relevant health and safety qualifications. The role includes but is not limited to:

• Undertaking routine and ad-hoc tests and maintenance duties including working with a variety of people

• Key holder duties including in the case of staff absence, participating in an ‘on-call rota’ 

• Availability to lock the buildings after late night events and meetings and open the buildings early mornings when required. 

• The use of your own vehicle and business insurance is essential as you will be expected to travel to different sites to support our activities away from the main location.  

• A self-starter with the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and work unsupervised you will be able to forge positive relationships and have a strong commitment to high standards of service delivery and customer care.

You may be asked to work occasional weekends to meet the needs of the school.  Work during the school holidays will generally be between the hours of 8am – 4pm.  Annual leave must be taken during school holidays.

Although based at Wargrave House, you may be asked to work at other locations to support business requirements so the ability to move between locations is essential.
