Job overview

As a Maintenance Supervisor at a Witherslack Group school, you’ll make sure the grounds and buildings are in first-class condition. Every day, you’ll be undertaking repairs, from fixing windows and touching up or renewing paint work, to helping keep our school vehicles on the road and using your green fingers to attend to grounds and gardens. It’s a varied role and offers the chance to work with a friendly team and to take pride in creating truly attractive surroundings where our young people will thrive.

Your previous Maintenance experience, or strong background in DIY, will mean you’re a fantastic all-rounder, who loves rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in. A relevant qualification (e.g. Joinery, Plumbing, and Electrical) and knowledge of health and safety do’s and don’ts would be an advantage, but are not essential. What’s more important to us is your attitude, expertise and your naturally helpful approach. You’ll also be a great team worker who can support and guide other employees when they’re looking for your help.

Hartwell School is our brand new, co-educational provision in Stockton and will be one of our largest schools with a capacity of up to 82 young people between the ages of 5-18. Like all of our schools, Hartwell School will offer state-of-the-art learning resources and well equipped environments. The school will be housed in a completely bespoke refurbished building, with great facilities including a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology and DT etc. Students will be supported in small class sizes, by well qualified and experienced staff to help them realise their full potential.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our aspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Reward

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll enjoy a competitive salary, contributory pension (matched up to 5%), comprehensive induction and ongoing training, 35 days holiday (including bank holidays), Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax-free childcare vouchers. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

For further information please contact Peter Ewart – Head Teacher on 07986609255.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
