Job overview

We are seeking a motivated, innovative and dedicated Marketing Officer to join our team dedicated to nurturing engagement within the College community. The Marketing Officer is a communications-based role for someone who has a passion and flair for writing. The position involves co-ordination of a range of school publications and communication mediums including the College website, Parent and Staff Portals, social media, fortnightly electronic Newsletter and Annual Yearbook.

As a key member of the College administration team, the Marketing Officer operates within the Catholic educational environment and culture and reports to the Business Manager. A significant relationship also exists with the Principal and College Leadership Team.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to meet the following criteria:
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organisation, our external marketing agency and with the broader College community.
• Demonstrated experience in working with an external agency to develop marketing collateral.
• Advanced computer literacy across a range of applications including Microsoft Office and web-based applications; experience with database systems and photo and multimedia editing.
• A certificate AQF qualification in Marketing or Communications or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:

Position Tenure:   Continuing

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   30 hours per week - required to work Monday - Friday during Term Time.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 4 - $29.93 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
