ABOUT US

Britannia International School (BIS) is a young school that has opened with a vision to provide high quality education to the international community in Guangzhou. We are an affordable choice for families fro different 27 different countries. We operate as a non-profit member school of the larger Canadian International Educational Organisation (CIEO). As such we benefit from the security and guidance of an established organisation, whilst following our own vision to create an innovative school that champions STEAM and creativity.

OUR CURRICULUM

Currently, our classes range from Nursery to UK year 9. September 2020 will see us open our year 10 IGCSE group, and we will continue to grow each year to offer A’ levels by 2022. Our teachers deliver the National Curriculum for England and Wales and follow Cambridge Assessment framework in Primary and Secondary. We are currently awaiting accreditation from Cambridge Assessment to begin offering IGCSE options from 2020. Alongside following the UK National Curriculum, we have a Chinese Language and Culture program and STEAM. Both STEAM and Chinese Language and Culture are delivered by specialist teachers to all students.

OUR SCHOOL

Britannia International School is located on Jinshazhou Island in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou. We are very fortunate to be a truly international school, as our students and teachers come from many different countries, our diversity is something we celebrate in regular events. The school campus includes a Music and Dance facility, Library, Art room, STEAM/idea lab, football pitch as well as open space areas for play and learning. All classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards and our teachers have a generous budget for resources.

For teachers, BIS offers an opportunity to join a small community where you will make difference. We are looking for forward thinking teachers who can bring ideas and enthusiasm to help our school grow.

The right candidate will hold a teaching qualification (QTS), have a passion for teaching & learning, excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and Cambridge Assessment, is motivated to explore new approaches to teaching and learning, uphold our high standards of care, and be able to build relations with students.

Working closely with STEAM, we are looking for teachers who are willing to collaborate as a team to enthuse and engage our students. As a new school we are still developing our program and you will play a key part in creating forward thinking, inter-disciplinary projects.
