Mathematics Teacher in the Secondary School

St. Nicholas School is seeking to appoint a Secondary Mathematics teacher/learner who will enjoy working in a highly stimulating and dynamic international environment. Current experience teaching IB Diploma is highly advantageous. Candidates should commit to the IB Diploma and be willing to contribute to Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essays, CAS and to the highest standards of academic excellence. The Mathematics Department contributes to a rich and varied learning environment at St Nicholas where all learners in year 11 and 12 follow a full IB Diploma Programme. It is a successful, and well-managed Faculty where teachers sharing ideas, resources and experiences. In years 7 and 8 the Department teaches a school designed programme based on a combination of the British National Curriculum and he MYP. Classes are taught in mixed groups in collaborative settings. In years 9 and 10 the Cambridge University IGCSE International Mathematics course is taught in sets with some students following a school designed course to prepare for the IB Diploma. At Diploma the faculty offers Higher Level, Standard Level and Maths Studies at Diploma. Results in all courses are above the World average and curriculum development is on-going to reflect the school’s inquiry-based philosophy.

- A university degree in Mathematics or a degree containing significant relevance to Mathematics, along with evidence of recent professional learning
