This Role: We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Maths to work in our vibrant, friendly school where the staff are highly valued and the students are motivated and eager to learn. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 Maths, and there is the opportunity to also teach KS5 Maths if desired. The successful candidate will deliver high quality teaching and learning and will be a creative, inspirational classroom practitioner. Our Maths faculty is one of the most conspicuously successful in the school. Student progress is strong. There are 7 hours of teaching per fortnight at KS3 and 8 hours per fortnight at KS4, in setted groups averaging 26 students. Last summer our GCSE cohort achieved 90% 9-4 in Maths and 89% 8-9 in Further Maths. Large numbers of students choose to continue their study of Mathematics into the 6th Form where they are ably supported by a strong and cohesive team of teachers. KS5 results are also strong – last summer students achieved 85% A*- B in both Maths and Further Maths. In 2023 46% of A level grades were at A*or A and more than 79% of Cambridge Technical grades were Distinction* or Distinction. 45% of GCSE grades were grade 7 or higher, with more than a quarter of the cohort achieving at least 7 GCSEs at grade 7 or better. Our ALPS grade has been consistently 2 at both A level and GCSE, and our ‘Progress 8’ score is consistently significantly above national average. Supported by a strong programme, students every year gain places at Oxbridge and for Medical and Veterinary Study, as well as for a wide range of specialisms and competitive courses at prestigious institutions.

Several non-teaching colleagues have trained with us as teachers; our rich CPL programme includes full induction for new teaching staff including NQTs, NPQH/SL/ML programmes, and financial support for MA courses, Action Research projects and many other opportunities. Additional responsibilities are always considered for suitable candidates and we offer NQTs employment for the last few weeks of the summer term.
