The Governors wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Mathematics to join a thriving faculty. Ashton Community Science College is an 11-16 mixed school with 680 pupils on roll and was rated as Good by Ofsted in the last inspection in 2013.

There are 6 full time Maths staff each with their own classroom. All Maths classrooms are equipped with a Promethean interactive whiteboard and the department has recently bought new textbooks for all KS3 and 4 classes to fulfil the needs of the new curriculum.

The Maths department are a close group who work together and support one another, constantly reflecting on their own practice and support, encourage and inspire each other both formally and informally on a daily basis. They are forward thinking, innovative and supportive of change and new approaches. We are looking for a teacher who is inspired by the opportunity to work with colleagues who genuinely want to improve the experiences and outcomes for all students and deliver a curriculum in Maths which inspires and enables students to perform at their best in a safe and supportive environment.

We would welcome applications from NQTs, recently qualified teachers and experienced teachers who have an enthusiasm for their subject and for working with young people. They should have a real interest in a wide range of teaching and learning approaches and enjoy working in a team.
