Utterby Primary Academy is a very special learning environment that provides a happy, caring community where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals. Our children are keen to learn, are well behaved and want to achieve their best. We are situated about a mile away from the village of Utterby, which is on the A16 between Louth and Grimsby.

We are popular locally in our village communities and a key member of a hard federation with North Thoresby Primary Academy. This partnership means that we work effectively together as a learning community, which benefits our staff, parents and ultimately our children.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible and conscientious person who has a passion for helping children. You will be expected to support our academy vision and to help children at lunchtime, and be proactive in ensuring children feel happy, safe and nourished. You must have high values in your own performance and be willing to widen your experiences.

The current post holder is also employed as a part time Clerical Assistant at the school. We are happy for the successful applicant to continue doing both roles if they wish. This role has been advertised separately.

Initially this is a one year fixed contract until December 2018.

A.E.T currently adopts the National Living Wage Foundation, which may be applicable to the role, however this is a none contractual discretionary allowance and is reviewed on an annual basis.

We can offer you:

  • A positive, community driven village school where high staff morale and team work have contributed to the sustained improvements in attainment and progress.
  • Happy, enthusiastic and well behaved children
  • A leadership team who welcome fresh ideas, and see the retention of staff as a high priority.
  • Well supported teachers and support staff who are committed to driving high standards

We actively encourage candidates to visit us, meet our children and staff and learn about our amazing Academy. Please contact Karen in the school office on 01472 840280 or email kgrant@utterbyprimaryacademy.org

Welcome to Utterby Primary Academy, a school with enormous potential and one where I am proud to lead. Utterby has the ambition, the expertise and the students to become an outstanding school. Join us and be part of this journey!

Here at Utterby Primary we share a special and unique learning community with our partner school North Thoresby Primary Academy, and we are proud to serve the village of Utterby near Louth, and surrounding areas. Our staff commute not just from Louth, but from Cleethorpes, Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire.

I have been at North Thoresby and Utterby for six and a half years, having been Head for a year and a half, and I am proud to say that I have enjoyed every one of them! I am fortunate to have a dedicated staff team to ensure that all the children make the best progress they could possibly make and, that all students attending the Academy, whatever their back-story, have access to the very best educational experiences possible.

If you want to work in a village setting with wonderful well behaved children, supportive leadership and tailored professional learning opportunities then we want to hear from you!

The children benefit from smaller than average class sizes, a teaching assistant in each class to help support with maths and literacy and our mini bus service which gives them access to learn in the outside world.

In order to continue to move forward, it is absolutely vital that we attract the right calibre of professional to work alongside our dedicated team of staff; a colleague who shares the clear vision that the child is at the very heart of everything we do; a colleague who is able to enjoy positive, professional relationships with young people; and, perhaps most importantly, a colleague who can demonstrate high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence when dealing with, at times,  complex and sensitive situations.

We are part of the Lift Schools network of schools, which provides a high degree of support and expertise to the whole school community and we enjoy partnerships with other Lift Schools around the country.

If you feel you have the skills, expertise, energy, enthusiasm and passion to join the staff team here, please ensure you submit an application and visit us.

In the meantime, I very much look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate the amount of time that goes into an application, so thank you in advance for considering joining us.

With very best regards,

Mrs Helen Redmond (Executive Head)
